 "Great adapter!" 2010-01-07
By R. Johnson (Scottsdale, AZ, USA)
I ordered the mini-DVI(M)-DVI-D(F) video adapter to save money since Apple's is twice the cost. I wasn't sure how well it would work, but I have had it for about a month and it works great! The appearance matches my white Macbook nicely. I am very happy that I didn't waste money on the more expensive versions of this product. Video quality is great and I can use my 50" HDTV as a monitor while using the internet, viewing movie previews, etc. I have to use a cable from my headphone port to the tv's AV plugins to get audio, but that works fine as well.

 "Who Designs These Things?" 2009-12-30
By kreig303 (San Francisco, CA)
It'd be churlish to blame this adapter itself, but there is one niggling issue which I wish to comment upon:

Whomever decided to create such a "swappable" design for the MiniDisplay Port itself should be shot.

If this thing is used to attach a cord of any decent length, which may or may not be subject to gravitational forces; or, the computer itself gets moved; then you will have to constantly check to ensure it is still attached.

Apple, get your head out your butt and just start using HDMI. Why do you have to create another ADC-type port to divide the marketplace?

"Works Just Like I Wanted" 2009-11-02
By S. Paul (Culver City, CA)
I bought this cable so I could connect my MacBook(2008) to my Samsung 32 inch flatscreen. You need to also buy a DVI to HDMI cable, which I also got through Amazon. Here is the link for it: Cables Unlimited PCM-2296-06 HDMI to DVI D Single Link Cable (6.56 Feet, Black). This setup worked perfectly for me. The video quality is pretty good, assuming you are watching high-quality video on your computer. I noticed there are other more expensive cords, but I don't think there is a noticeable different in quality.

"Cuts out, not Apple Brand" 2009-08-11
By K. M. Robinson (Florida)
If I didn't want the Apple brand I would have ordered not Apple brand. Not sure if it's the adapter, the cable, or my TV but every time I attempt to use the TV as a second monitor now it works fine for a little while and then suddenly the TV switches inputs from DVI to PC and says, "hey nothing's plugged in" (well duh, you're looking in the wrong port) Very frustrating.

Mini-DVI to DVI-D Adapter Cable for Apple Mac

Buy Cheap Mini-DVI to DVI-D Adapter Cable for Apple Mac

Buy Low Price From Here Now

Use this cable adapter to connect your 12-inch PowerBook G4, Intel-based iMac, MacBook Intel-based laptop, Intel-based Xserve, or 2009 Mac Mini to an external monitor with DVI-D input. Plug the Mini-DVI end into your Mac, and connect the DVI-D connector to a DVI-D cable.

Helpful Notes: This device is intended to function more as an adapter than as a cable, meaning its short length WILL NOT reach from your Mac to the monitor. It will need to be used with a DVI-D cable (sold separately).

The adapter MUST be used with a DVI-D cable. The specification for DVI-D does not support analog video signals, so this adapter will not work if used with a DVI-to-VGA cable, or with a DVI-I cable. Please check your monitor's input ports to be sure it has a DVI-D input before purchase.

In addition, this adapter works only with Mini-DVI ports, not with Micro-DVI or Mini Display Ports. To quickly check what port you have: this adapter has a U-shaped connector that will match the U-shape found on Mini-DVI ports.

Highest resolution supported: 1920x1200 @60Hz.

"Great OEM alternative to the overpriced original" 2009-11-11
By Nathan Beauchamp (Oak Park, IL USA)
I don't know about you but I find paying upwards of thirty-dollars for a video adapter to be inexplicably expensive (other than greed that is). I've bought my fair share of name brand Apple gear as well as some OEM versions when the price difference is large. This is one example where the OEM is more than suitable. It performs admirably and allows me to port my video to an external monitor at 1920x1080. I've been using this adapter for a few months and have had no issues with it. If you want to pay a lot less and get exactly the same adapter as the Apple original, this one won't leave you disappointed.

"scared at the beginning... but satisfied at the end." 2009-10-18
By Angel Cortez (Central America)
This adapter works great... when I first got it I thought it was not the right one, since I didn't have my Cinema Display 20" in front of me, but when I got home and tried it, it worked PERFECTLY!!!

I think it's just a matter of making sure what's the adapter you really need.

This thing works great for spanning my imac out to an external monitor. For the price, it is definitely worth picking up over the apple version. The quality is somewhat less solid, but it does the trick.

 "Does what it should" 2009-11-02
By JP (The Roc, NY)
Does exactly what it should...got freaked out at first cause when I connected it to my MacBook all that appeared on the TV screen was the wallpaper (no matter what I actually had on the computer screen). This I found out was easily fixed under the System preferences ->Displays...just find the checkbox that says "mirror display" or "mirror screen" or something like that. So now it works great and I can watch any streaming video or tv shows etc. from my laptop on my 42" TV! Just remember there is no sound with this cable...that's a separate audio cable.

"Flawless Performance at Half the Price" 2009-10-07

I purchased this adapter to connect my iMac to my HDTV via HDMI. It works like a champ and holds the connections tightly so nothing slips out on its own. I'd recommend this to any user in need of a Mini-DVI to HDMI solution.

 "Clarity For The Confused!" 2009-10-05
By S. Hochstetler
Ok, there seems to be some confusion as to what this product will do over the mini-dvi to VGA adapter that Apple sells, so I hope I can shed some light on the matter. The mini-dvi to VGA allows you to display your computer monitor on your television screen with resolutions that your COMPUTER MONITOR is capable of. This is very limiting as most TVs will not support the higher resolutions of the monitor, leaving you with little better than 800x600. In comes the mini-dvi to HDMI adapter, which allows you to display your computer monitor on your television, but the real magic is in the resolutions you are now given. The resolutions are HDTV compatible, allowing for HD viewing( I view mine in 720p). If you're looking for a quick answer, this product is much better than any mini-dvi to VGA that is out, simply for the fact that your resolution will be higher on the TV, resulting in a clearer picture and much more readable text.

Extremely fast shipping from seller. To be product specific though, this works as advertised. Using to connect Black Macbook to HDTV. Much better results than using mini DVI to VGA connection.
