This KVM will only work with vanilla USB devices, so no wireless combos or anything fancy should be tried. Anyway, installation was a breeze and, let's face it, the first reason to get a KVM in the first place is a lack of resources.
The only problem I had is that I used a Benq FP93GW as the shared monitor, and while the Ubuntu box recognised the KVM as if I had never plugged out the thing, on Windows XP the driver rolled back to "Default monitor", which looks far below expectations. After around 2 weeks, Windows magically recognised the monitor, but I can't blame the KVM for this blunder.
The $49.99 tag seems a bit steep for me, but at $29.99, you definitely get a good, reliable piece of hardware.

Was easy to install, took less than a couple minutes. One note- make sure you have the keyboard and mouse plugged into the correct USB ports, the hotkeys won't work if you don't have them plugged in correctly.

Used this to connect an old XP machine (VGA out) to a new Win 7 machine (DVI out) to a 24" Dell widescreen flat panel. Used to DVI to VGA adapter on the Win 7 machine to connect video, audio, keyboard, and mouse. Worked like a charm right out of the box at the whatever resolution I wanted.

I got this product because I work from home and have two computers in my office, a work laptop and a personal machine with a large monitor, ergonomic keyboard, and better mouse. I was recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel in my right hand, and the laptop's puny keyboard and mouse were no longer the most comfortable or wisest option for me. I got this switch so I could use the good keyboard and mouse, as well as the 25" monitor, with my laptop as well as with my personal machine. Ergonomically, it's a much better choice. I could have just gotten an extra monitor, keyboard, and mouse for the laptop, but that would have been far more money than I spent on the switch. Plus, it allowed me to put the laptop up on a Deskstandz stand and free up some much needed desk space.
No, the switch does not work with wireless keyboards, and there is nowhere in the manual or on the packaging it says this, and that is a problem. I gave it a downgrade for this lack of information. However, I have a wireless mouse (Logitech MX Revolution) and it DOES work with that. Or, you can use it with a wired keyboard that has a built-in USB port, and plug the wireless mouse's receiver into the keyboard, and that also works fine.
I agree with the user who said not to bother using the audio inputs. I don't really use sound much on my laptop, and I have a Bose system on my personal machine, so I just let each computer handle its own sound. If I really cared about sound from the laptop, I'd just hook up some wireless speakers to my laptop and position them near the shared monitor.
One thing laptop users need to know: to get the laptop to use the external monitor, you will need to use some kind of keystroke combination to switch the monitors. My Toshiba laptop uses one of the function key alternates available by pressing the "FN" key (FN-F5). This foxed me for a short time.
Also, although it's not marked on the switch, it does matter where you plug in your keyboard vs. your mouse on the switch. If it's not working properly, try swapping their positions.
