I din't know what to really expect from the Acer LCD. I have never brought any of their products, However, I must say that this is one of the best buys I have ever made. It was very easy to setup. The monitor shows everything with great clarity and the colors are brillant. Definitely a best buy.

This monitor is a great size. The widescreen is awesome. You have to use 1366 x 768. Everything look amazing. The only downside is that the monitor is not height adjustable. I love the V shaped base which is firm and easy to attach. I can put my webcam in that space.

I ordered this monitor because I spilled water in the top of my old bulky monitor and it stopped working. For the price I paid I don't know what I expected but this is a pretty decent monitor. The only downfall that I see is that it is not height adjustable which means I still have to buy a shelf for it or a new desk. The image is clear and crisp and there is no funny glare when you look at it sideways like on some monitors. This monitor was worth the money spent!!

I jot got this today, Dec. 1st, and ordered in on Black Friday. Very fast shipping, thank you Amazon. I got this for $60, and it is a great looking monitor. Love the wide screen on it as I now take widescreen photos, and they fit and look perfect on here. I am very impressed and the hook up took no time at all. Did not use the disc for installation as windows automatically noticed it. I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade from any older monitor. Amazon has come throug for me again. Thanks

I heard Samsung was a really good company to buy T.V's from so I decided to buy this 2233sw LCD MONITOR AND ENDED UP HAVING TO MAIL IT BACK TO SAMSUNG FOR SERVICES after two months.It was working fine, left it on my computer table running 24/7 and out of no where it just stopped turning on. I had to pay the UPS people 20 bucks to ship this junk back to Samsung to have it worked on. I wish I could just return this thing... -_-, but the last day was to return this to amazon was on January 31. Although it has a one year warranty I advise you to AVOID BUYING THIS!!! Even if its on sale because I bought it on sale(on Black Friday lol) and now i think i payed for the original price just because it broke down.

This is a really nice monitor, and the price is right ....But not for Macintosh computers.

Easy setup, worked right away, sharp images, etc.

However, I found the screen a bit too bright. So I tried to adjust, but none of the monitor buttons would work; only the power button. So I searched and found I could download "Magictune for Mac" I did, but unfortunately it only works up to OS 10.5.7 on Powermacs and I have an older Mac updated to 10.5.8. (So this means that I get a Java error every time I try to launch it.) I emailed Samsung tech support and got a somewhat generic reply that Samsung supports Macs with Magictune and a link to the download page. Obviously my correspondent had not even read that I HAD downloaded Magictune and that it didn't work. (They also say on their website that Intel Macs are not supported, but I don't have experience with that.)

So I'm getting used to the brightness of the screen, and can't make any adjustments. As nice as it is I'm considering the hassle of returning it...

Got two of this 2233SW for a dual setup for my desktop today, but will return them tomorrow.



I have used a 22" Samsung 2232BW monitor with my desktop for a year, and somewhat liked it. But now I use that monitor as an external display for my girlfriend's laptop. So a replacement is needed. I decided to go with a dual setup. And the two monitors were from local Sam's Club store. The video card in the desktop is NVIDIA 9800GT+ with dual DVI outputs.



I was pretty happy with the packaging and the smooth black design of the two monitors to begin with; but after connecting both monitors to my desktop under dual settings, I instantly noticed that the color and brightness they rendered were so different. After adjusting the monitor settings to the same for both monitors, they still looked noticeably different rendering the same Win XP wallpaper.



Then I tried to calibrate the one that had too much brightness using NVIDIA control panel, but in vain. Under the lowest brightness setting, it still could not comply with the gray-scale standard.I also tried switching DVI connections between the monitors and the desktop, and that did not seem to make a differece.



This lack of consistency in performance scares me. Samsung apparently has lowed its QA/QC standard.

I bought this about a month ago from Costco and was very pleased with my purchase. The size is perfect for use as both a desktop monitor and bedroom television. I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 that hooked up right up to the monitor via its VGA connection. It was pretty easy to get the monitor settings put together. I currently use both the Samsung monitor and my Dell laptop monitor, but will use the Samsung monitor as a primary monitor once I get an external keyboard and mouse.



The image is quite vibrant and colorful, with some easy setting controls located on the side of the monitor. You can have a "bright" screen for watching movies, "text" that offers a dimmer lighting solution, or even a "sports" mode. I use it a lot to stream instant Netflix and was surprised at the high quality HD I was able to stream in, even though I was using a VGA connection as opposed to a DVI.



The monitor tilts forwards and backwards, and is pretty light. I have no problems moving it to the back and front of my desk, depending on if I am working on my computer or watching a movie from my bed.



Some cons:

1.) Minor white bleeding from the top and bottom. I never notice it when using it as a monitor in the strict sense. I only notice it sometimes when watching movies with dark background. For less than $200, I cannot complain.

2.) No speakers for audio input/output. Though, this probably helps it maintain its light weight.



Overall, I would buy this product again. My boyfriend was initially doubtful but has become quite pleased with the monitor too!

This monitor is great. I had no bad pixels and the picture quality is great in it's native resolution. The picture brightness is consistent from edge to edge with no loss in quality. You do not need to back away from the monitor to see the full screen clearly. Picture quality suffers if you use full screen in a lower resolution than the 1920 x 1200. If you need to use a 4 to 3 screen ratio, change the aspect ratio to use it. The 2 inches of black screen on each side of the monitor is better than the out of proportion picture. 1 to 1 has excellent picture quality but defeats the purpose of having a large viewing area. If you need the resolution, this monitor will do it with decent quality. I feared that the higher priced monitor with the webcam would have better specs than this one but the monitor specs are identical. The manual has almost no instructions but you can download a pdf version of the manual. All in all, a great monitor in this price range.

First of all, I have read all the reviews from multiple site regarding many monitors in this class. Many negative, and many positive.



This Monitor is fantastic! It does require some tinkering out of the box. It is very bright, and does have a VERY slight blue tint. For someone like me, who games, this thing is perfect. It looks so good, and I cannot see the horrible blue, and bleeding some reviews have mentioned. Blacks and Whites are close enough to pure that you won't notice unless your doing some heavy-duty image editing. IF you know your RGB adjustments, and play with the setting you will not regret choosing this monitor. If you are on the fence, and you dont mind the lack of a TV tuner or adjustable stand; Its a beautiful display!

I do some digital art as a hobby and have a dual monitor setup. I picked this out as my primary monitor which this monitor isn't really suited for that purpose but I was on a budget. It works great but has some flaws...



As you can expect from a lower priced LCD, the color depth is slightly lower than true color. If try to look at a true gradient in a graphics program there is some minor "stepping" instead of a perfect gradient. Other than that, the color is great and it has a sharp picture.



One very annoying problem, though, is the presets. The monitor has a few modes: "scenery, standard, theater, game & night view". You can modify the color settings in each one and in the menus there are presets that are supposed to make it easier. They all suck. All the preloaded color settings have to be manually tuned right from the start. I only bothered manually tuning Standard Mode since there's not much reason for me to switch. I bought a 19" ASUS and that was the same so it's definitely a factory issue. If you don't mind fine tuning it for 20 minutes to an hour then you can get a real nice picture out of it, though.



In short: A nice monitor for the price. Requires some time to tune to colors but has a great picture.

The quality of this monitor is not the best but the value is unbeatable. Off angle viewing is atrocious and if I needed it would render this monitor useless. With that said, for the money this monitor is a great value. Straight on viewing is excellent, the controls are easy to navigate, the connectivity options are amazing (though USB would have been nice).



The stand is what you would expect for a monitor in this price range, if you need adjustability spring for an after market stand which is a snap since this monitor has VESA mounting holes.



Last but not least, the size is great. 1900x1200 is just great on a panel this size, it gives you tons of real estate without shrinking everything to an unreadable size.

Opened package set up monitor and it automatically calibrated. I tweaked the settings a bit. Acceptable Monitor. Has trouble adjusting to different Resolutions in different games. I notice a kind of distortion that fuzzes out vertical lines. When it is set to the recommended resolution, it performs wonderfully. The speakers are unacceptable, Very thin sounding. Low Price decent picture.
