This thing rocks. I have been a professional cinematographer/videographer for a few decades. For what this cam does, how it lets me work, and above all, the cost of this unit is spectacular. It is set up exclusively for outdoor use-i.e. it is daylight balanced and has the proper ND in it. It does NOT work well indoors, unless the prevalant light is daylight. Audio is pretty minimal, but again, for what it is--unbelievable! Unfortunately you are unable to view the camera in real time for set up, so you must mount, shoot a little video, review it, then adjust the cam accordingly. NTSC output is great! It even comes with a little can of silicon grease for the "O" ring on the watertight cap! Reliable company as well. This is one of those deals where you just can't go wrong.

At least it is a very resistant camera. I am a mountainbiker and i have fallen from my bike several times but the camera remains intact. it is amazing how tough it is.
nontheless it lacks of a rear screen to see what you are filming. besides the sound it is very poor.
anyway it is prety damn good for extreme sports.

This is my second Oregon Camera. First 2 were the ATC1000 (their first camera). I have used those 2 cameras for many years on my motorcycles (Honda ST1100 and ST1300)... I mean... for almost 3 years. Now I decided to upgrade and went for the ATC2K, but I notice that this camera does a lot of wobble... a lot!
I have the same bike... the same mounted place... I ride the same roads, but the footage I get for this new camera is horrible... not worthed to watch or edit...
What happened?... is this an error or broken camera or you Oregon Scientific guys didn't improve your product?
Their advertise that this is a "play hard, record everythig" camera, but I can't imagine doing any of the sports they mention if a simple riding my touring bike is not working well.
They used to have a great product with the ATC1000... but this one is ready to go to the trash can.

A 4 GB memory card is Amazon's suggestion as an additional purchase. The camera WILL NOT work with anything larger than a 1 GB card. I contacted Oregon Scientific and was given this information. When the 4 GB card was inserted an ERR message would show up on the tiny screen. The manual had no details/information for this particular error code, and the technician from OS told me the manuals would be updated to included this (in the future).

Not as nice as others on the market but the price is reflective of status. Bought for my 6 year old to ski and bike with. Should do just fine.
