 "T260HD from buy.com/Amazon" 2010-02-19
By Cbecktneck (New Jersey, USA)
Pros

-Picture from computer and Xbox360 - beautiful. I wish I had a newer 360 with HDMI (could the picture be better than it is now using the RGB component inputs?)

-Still getting used to such a large screen for the computer (upgraded from an old 17" CRT). I did some tweeking through my video card's setting menu, and the picture couldn't be more perfect.

-Unit looks classy.

Cons

-I am not sure the stand is in correctly. I pushed as hard as I could, but I did not hear a "clicking" sound to verify. The stand seems too easy to pull back out for me to feel comfortable that it is locked into place. I haven't found a forum where I can check out what other people did in this situation yet.

-It is true the speakers aren't great but I expected that and have some speakers that I will hook up.

-I wish there was a headphone jack (so the side door only has to be opened every once in a while) and yellow composite video input on the back of the unit for my dvd player and older tech stuff.

-TV picture could be clearer, but it is attached to basic/analog cable feed without a box, so the signal is not HD.

Delivery service

-Product came within 3 days, but delivery company gave it to a business a block away. I was annoyed that I could only contact [...] via email instead of phone, but they answered e-mails promptly and had a new unit sent right away.

-[...] did all they could to get me taken care of. The delivery issue was not their fault, they gave the correct address to delivery company. I am pleased with their service.

Verdict

I love the monitor/hdtv and I recommend it highly. I normally don't give full scores unless I am completely blown away. Consider this a 4.7 out of 5 stars

 "Picture Clarity...a good buy" 2010-02-17
By Sasha Myeowleviski (Irving, TX)
I bought this monitor a month ago..and so far so good.

I like the huge size and the picture clarity. It arrived faster than I expected and did not notice any dead pixels.

I decided to buy this one for it now doubles as an HDTV too! We cancelled our cable and we use a converter box..but on the monitor, we did not need a converter box, we just got a rabit-ear antenna and now we can watch TV!

I just wish it had picture in picture feature where I could watch the TV and also work on the pc....I also wish it could tilt or turn in either direction, so I do not have to almost pick up the whole unit in order to turn it...but these moments are few and I can do without this feature.

My husband was skeptical , especially with the pricing but now he hates to admit it, but it was worth the price :) He now sits more to work on the PC than he does on his laptop..and we also can watch recorded shows on the internet like we were watching them on TV.

 "Very nice monitor!" 2010-02-16
By Brent
I purchased this T260HD mainly to be used as a computer monitor. The fact that it includes a TV tuner, adds to its value in my opinion. Its also a very attractive looking monitor. If your just looking to buy a TV, you might as well just buy a dedicated TV though.

So far I like this monitor very much. I am upgrading from a 22" 226bw Samsung which I was happy with, but wanted something a little bigger. I haven't even needed to adjust the color, it looks accurate to me out of the box, the only thing I have adjusted was the brightness, which I lowered to 35 (it comes shipped at 100 brightness). The vertical viewing angle isn't all that great, but this monitor is best viewed with your head near the same level as the monitor, just like every other TN panel is.

One huge positive that doesn't get mentioned much, is the fact that you can also use the remote to adjust all the monitor settings. It makes it a thousand times easier to adjust the monitor settings when you can use the remote, than it is using monitor buttons found on all monitors. Samsung also put thought into the settings, as you can even turn off the power light, or adjust how bright you want the power light. You can also adjust the melody volume that is played when the monitor turns on/off, or turn it off entirely. Turning the monitor on/off just takes placing a finger in front of the sensor (I just use the back of my hand, and it works great).

The TV plays great, especially when in 720 or 1080 HD mode (I'm currently just getting over the air television on it, using an external antenna). I do have a tuner built into my computer also, but what is nice about having a tuner in the monitor itself, is that the computer doesn't have to be turned on to watch it.

I am very happy with this monitor. I use it for pretty much everything, including games (I am using an ATI 5850 card with it).

EDIT: One thing I wasn't happy about when I received it was how cheap and skinny looking the DVI cable was that comes with it, although it seems to work just fine.

 "It's okay" 2010-02-13
By M (CA, USA)
I've read some of the reviews about washed out color. That's odd because the color controls are easy to get to and very granular. You can pump up the colors if you'd like, but I was more conservative with them. If you want to you can make the colors really look bad. I turned off the "cool1" picture mode and manually adjusted the colors to my liking and the color is fine.

The biggest let down on this monitor is the viewing angle is too shallow. If you are off vertical axis from center the top of the display dims quite noticeably. My TV is up higher than my head, and with no tilt correction capability, I have to stand up to get rid of the dimming effect. If the monitor was at head level or lower then I wouldn't have this problem.

Off axis horizontally is not nearly as bad, and all LCDs have some drop of color fidelity (except the newest ones with whatever Apple is using on their new iMacs) off axis. The viewing angle could be better though so I knocked off a star for that.

Also lacking is a VESA mount included. I read other sites that say you can buy an adapter for $25 but the question is, which one? This ambiguity and the extra cost knocks off a half star. And the lack of being able to tilt the monitor knocks off another star. (Technology should adapt to us, not us to it. And that's what I find myself doing.)

I did read one review where the guy said the picture was horrible on his computer with a 9800 video card. Through the DVI in port on the back the native resolution of 1900X1200 is very clear and sharp. In fact I'm sitting about 6-7 feet away writing this review on this monitor. What I figure is this guy had has video card in non-native resolution. If this is the case, all LCDs look bad out of their native resolution.

In short there's nothing wrong with this monitor except user error. If I had it at the proper viewing height, I would be happier with it. 3 Stars -- it would get 5 with: wider vertical and horizontal viewing angles, included VESA mount, and the ability to tilt the monitor*.

(*Turns out you can tilt the monitor... +1/2 star.)

I purchased the Samsung 26" Monitor/TV as one of my multiple screens and it is the best performer. The value is outstanding and the quality excellent. Recommend this for either a monitor, a TV or combination.

Great Tv montior for the price. Very easy to set up. Some movies appear very dark and had to increase the brightness all the way to the right. Otherwise suits our needs very well. Like the versitility.

Terrific TV with plenty of inputs. I have it hooked to my cable & use the ATSC tuner to watch HDTV. I use the DVI & VGA inputs for my 2 PCs. I use the component video input for my XBox 360. The only thing missing is PiP!

The sound quality isn't the best but is adequate for my purposes.

All in all, a great HDTV at a great price.

 "Great Picture!" 2009-12-28
By Jerry McGuire (Los Angeles)
This is my first HDTV and I must say I am impressed. Though the sound is tinny, as many have mentioned in other reviews, it's definately worth the low price. I do notice the lag when objects or people move quickly on screen; I guess that's the 60HZ refresh rate. I suppose most HDTVs will soon be 120HZ, 240HZ or even 480HZ very soon. Let's hope the prices will keep dropping! :)

"Excellent Monitor-Still too small for Optimum XBOX Live play" 2009-12-22
By Eman Nep
I bought this for my husband as a gift and he loves it. We've had no problems with resolution or anything else. We've tried it as a television, computer monitor and to use to play XBOX 360. It offers outstanding performance in all areas. The only complaint-which is probably more user preference than a performance issue- is that when playing some games on XBOX Live (specifically for war/shooting games), this monitor is still too small to see all the players clearly. Still worthy of 5 stars.

 "Excellent image, great price" 2009-12-21

This monitor works as a HDTV. I bought it to hook it up with my PS3 and it looks great. It's true though what reviews say about the speakers, the sound is not that good but if you have a home theater or a couple of speakers (just like me) you would do fine. 1080p with this screen for such a low price, it's priceless.
